Flying Kites
In 2010, I was introduced to an amazing organization – Flying Kites. An organization dedicated to igniting the potential of some of Kenya’s most vulnerable children. Flying Kites provides these neglected children access to high-quality education with the goal of alleviating suffering, increasing gender equality and promoting economic sustainability.
This September 2017, I am headed back to Kenya as Flying Kites celebrates it’s 10-year anniversary – 10-years of helping some of the most incredible children. I have made it my mission to raise awareness and support for these vulnerable children. As an organization we bridge the gap between life and death for these children. Why we need your help today more than ever!
For the first time in my support of this organization, we have a long waiting list of these most vulnerable children, needing our help. As a result we have embarked on a major capital campaign to house, educate, and to feed more than 120 children in need. Please help break this cycle of poverty and provide a meaningful, long-term investment in the future of these children and our world.
What sets Flying Kites apart?
Our elementary school operates as a boarding and day school, providing a competitive education to students from the Njabini community, as well as opportunities for housing and care for students who are orphaned and homeless. Over the past several years, our school has been consistently rated as a top school in the district and our students learn in and environment that provides not just academic excellence, but also creativity, critical thinking and community service.
Our LaunchPad initiative helps students prepare for high school and beyond through mentorships, scholarships and life-skills training.
